TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE

Prevent unsolicited calls

Put a stop to unwanted calls and join the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), the United Kingdom’s official ‘Do Not Call’ list. The free service, run by the Data and Marketing Association (DMA), allows you to opt out of unsolicited calls from organisations who may telephone you with live sales or marketing calls.

Reduce unwanted calls

Join the ‘Do Not Call’ list

Joining the TPS will dramatically reduce the number of unsolicited telephone calls that you receive. You will no longer be contactable by organisations, including charity and voluntary organisations, with sales and marketing calls. Registering unfortunately won’t stop automated marketing calls as the law only applies to people, not computers, and it also won’t stop calls from scammers. Please always be mindful and stay vigilant when answering a call from an unknown number.

Free and easy to join

No fee to register

Registering to join the TPS is completely free and requires no additional charges after joining. Please be aware that the TPS will never contact you asking for payment. To register, you will be required to provide your phone number, postcode and email address with the service taking 28 days from registration to be fully effective. You will also need to notify them if any of this information changes to ensure you continue to benefit from the service.

Ease of mind

Answer calls freely

Answer calls with the peace of mind knowing you will no longer have to face the uncertainty of whether or not it’ll be a cold call at the end of the phone. If a company hasn’t abided by the TPS you can report them directly via the TPS complaints procedure. Additionally, if you think you have answered a scam call, hang up immediately, block the number and report it.
